Königssee je prirodno jezero u krajnjem jugoistočnom dijelu okruga Berchtesgadener Land njemačke pokrajine Bavarske, u blizini austrijske granice.
Ime Königssee doslovno znači „Kraljevo jezero” na njemačkom, a kada stignete ovdje, potpuno ćete razumjeti zašto: to je bez sumnje jedno od najljepših mjesta u Njemačkoj, ako ne i u Evropi. To je ujedno i najdublje jezero u Njemačkoj, koje se nalazi na dubini od 190 metara ili 630 stopa. Na dužini od 8 kilometara ili 6 milja, možete doći do slikovitog vidikovca da vidite cijelo jezero sa samo 30 minuta hoda.
Jezero Königssee sa svojom smaragdno zelenom bojom i smješteno u podnožju impozantnog istočnog zida planine Watzmann u srcu Nacionalnog parka Berchtesgaden jedno je od pravih remek-djela prirode.
Planina Watzmann na istoku doseže skoro 9000 stopa iznad svjetlucavih zelenih talasa jezera. Pejzaž oko jezera Konigssee podsjetio nas je na norveške fjordove.
