The Macorix House of Rum is a historical museum of the Ron Macorix Family, established in 1899 by the Carrión family in the town of San Pedro de Macorís, a place considered by many to be the land of poets, artists, and sugar cane.110 years later, Ron Macorix became part of the Vinícola del Norte family of the port city of Puerto Plata, uniting two iconic rum-producing cities in the Dominican Republic.Based on the oldest recipes, Ron Macorix is unique because it combines the heritage of our founders and years of experience in rum production with the most advanced technology in the industry. We can proudly say that RON MACORIX has been a premium blend since 1899.Once you arrive, you will receive a super interesting and recommended tour where you can learn about the history of rum in America, see the aging barrels, and taste, if you wish, many types of rum that will take you back in time and make the trip an unforgettable experience.The Macorix House of Rum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is located in Puerto Plata, a short walk from Playa Dorada beach. The length of the tour depends on your needs, but it usually lasts about an hour.
