About Metro Forest

Metro Forest - Khet Prawet | Secret World Trip Planner

Metro Forest is located in the area of Sukhaphiban 2 Sois 23-25 and is a green area in the heart of Bangkok. It was established by the PTT Institute for Reforestation and Ecology. It aims to be a learning center for new ecological forests and green lungs for people living in the city. Walking through the forest in the center of the city, visitors will find the forest project exhibition building in the city, built with naturally colored clay. In this area, visitors can experience fresh air naturally, different from the traditional brick and concrete construction. The interior of the exhibition hall is divided into three sections. Section 1: History, reforestation theory and His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great's theory. Section 2: A gallery of short films telling the story and raising awareness about reforestation. This section explains the reforestation method of the urban forest project using the theory of Prof. Dr. Akira Miyawaki, a Japanese eco-forest builder who has worked on more than 1,500 reforestation projects around the world. After watching the short film, behind the film screen is a door that opens into Section 3: this includes wooded areas and walkways that gradually increase in height based on the height of the plants planted in the project, which is the highlight here. Besides admiring the landscape of green nature from the walkway, there is also an observation tower that is the main attraction of this place. Visitors can climb to the top floor for a 360-degree view of the urban forest project. It is open Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday) with two daily shifts. Morning: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and afternoon: 1 p.m.-4 p.m. (There is a limit of 50 people per shift). For more details, contact 06 1385 4414 or visit the website: learningcenter.pttreforestation.com.
