The Olinda Lighthouse is a famous tourist attraction located on top of Alto da Sé hill in Olinda, northeastern Brazil. Built in 1872, it is 27 meters high and offers spectacular panoramic views of the city of Olinda and the sea.The lighthouse was built in response to the need to guide ships sailing along the Pernambuco coast during the night and adverse weather conditions. Over the years, the lighthouse has been modernized and updated with more advanced equipment, becoming an important landmark for maritime navigation in the region.Today, the Olinda Lighthouse is open to visitors and is one of the city's most popular attractions. The 120-step wooden staircase to the top offers spectacular views of the colonial city and the Atlantic Ocean coastline. The lighthouse is also surrounded by a beautiful garden with tropical plants and a water fountain, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the view. The lighthouse is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free. It is recommended to visit during the day to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the coast, but also to return during the evening to admire the illuminated lighthouse, which offers a truly impressive sight.
