Rain Forest Fountain - Riccione | Secret World Trip Planner

Walking through the streets of Riccione, it is impossible not to happen upon the famous Piazzale Roma where you will find one of Riccione's symbolic places, the fountain "The Rain Forest"! It was even designed by the great Tonino Guerra, historical screenwriter of Amarcord and Federico Fellini's right-hand man.

Created by artist Fausto Baldessarini, the work is built on 6 helical columns of layered glass;

These, when struck by light, are colored in all shades of green.

Central purpose of the operation:

Replace existing lighting with LED products, Improve consumption and create striking effects! By mixing colored light with the water jets of the fountain and the various glass sections of the columns we obtain the magical appearance that in fact it offers every day to those who contemplate it. The beginning of the history of the Riccione Rain Forest dates back to August 2000, when it was created as a reminder of the rain and the coolness it brings.

For the water features, the realization was entrusted to S.A.T.A. and for the mosaics to Marco Santi of the Cooperativa Mosaicisti of Ravenna.

The fishing nets that complete the fountain, from which the rain drips, were prepared in the Marche region and manually processed by Marchini Reti of Cattolica.

In short, a nice mix of artists, artisans.
