The Golden Chapel is located inside the Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, one of the most important churches in Recife, located in the Santo Antônio neighborhood. The chapel was built in the 18th century at the behest of the Brotherhood of São Pedro dos Clérigos, whose main purpose was to assist the sick and poor.The interior of the chapel is considered one of the best examples of Baroque art in Brazil.
