The lime route

Walking through the streets of the historic center, you will notice on the sides of the streets a series of ceramic tiles – 15 in total – made by Cogolese ceramists and aimed at highlighting the local history and traditions, inextricably linked to lime production.

Così while some of them depict the various stages of limestone processing, others depict the ancient docks from where boats sailed out to sea. Today that this has è receded a bit’, the various small squares that have sprung up in the meantime have become witnesses to the Cogoleto that once was.

The same goes for the traditional Ligurian small houses with colorful facades, now perfectly integrated into the modern urban agglomeration.
