Trip Planner AI Review: Tested in Seoul 2026 - Seoul | Secret World Trip Planner

Seoul immediately puts you in difficulty: nine million inhabitants, neighborhoods that change character every three blocks, and a subway system with 23 lines that can save or ruin an itinerary. When I started planning ten days between Gangnam, Jongno, and Jeju Island, I quickly realized that an Excel sheet would not be enough. I decided to test three AI trip planners in the field, using Seoul as a real testing ground.

Trip Planner AI Review: Tested in Seoul 2026 - Seoul | Secret World Trip Planner

I chose three tools: Secret World AI Trip Planner, one of the most well-known competitors in the industry and a generalist app with planning functions. I used all three to build the same basic itinerary: seven days in Seoul starting from Incheon Airport, a medium budget of 80-100 euros per day, interest in culture, street food, and contemporary architecture. The results were very different from each other.

What I asked Secret World and what it responded

I started with a specific request: "Build a 7-day itinerary in Seoul starting from Incheon, with a mix of historic palaces, local markets, and creative neighborhoods. I want to avoid wasting time on transportation." Secret World responded with a structured plan day by day, grouping attractions by geographical area. The first day included arrival in Incheon, transfer with the AREX Express (about 43 minutes, 9,500 won), check-in in the Myeongdong area, and an evening visit to the Namdaemun Market, open late and five minutes' walk from most hotels in the area.

The thing that impressed me the most was the logic of the movements. The AI included Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Bukchon Hanok Village on the same day, explaining that they are less than twenty minutes' walk from each other. It estimated two hours for the palace (entrance 3,000 won) and an hour and a half to stroll among the hanok houses. In the afternoon of the same day, it added Insadong, reachable in ten minutes. This type of geographical optimization is exactly what an experienced traveler would do, but is often lost in DIY planning.

The details that make the difference compared to competitors

The second tool I tested produced a visually organized itinerary, but with questionable choices: it placed Hongdae and Dongdaemun Design Plaza in the same afternoon, neighborhoods that are on opposite sides of the city and require at least 40 minutes by subway from each other. A mistake that costs real time. The generalist app, on the other hand, suggested attractions without schedules or context, listing the N Seoul Tower without specifying that the cable car ride from Myeongdong takes only five minutes but the queue can reach an hour on weekends.

Secret World managed these details more maturely. For the N Seoul Tower, it suggested visiting on a weekday in the early morning, specifying that opening is at 10:00 AM and that the first two hours are the least crowded. It also proposed an alternative: walking up from Namsan Park (about a 40-minute walk) for those who want to avoid the cable car. Small operational details that in practice make the difference between a smooth day and a frustrating one.

How it managed customizations and program changes

Halfway through the test, I modified the preferences: I requested to include a day dedicated exclusively to street food, with a route that touched on the most authentic markets. Secret World reworked the itinerary proposing a tour that started from the Gwangjang Market (famous for bindaetteok and mayak gimbap, average spending 8-12 euros), continued to the Tongin covered market with the system of vouchers in ancient coins, and ended the evening at Mangwon Market, less touristy and very frequented by locals from the neighborhood.

The other two tools, in response to the same request, simply added a list of markets without building a logical route. Secret World instead considered the opening hours (Gwangjang opens at 8:00, Mangwon is livelier after 17:00) and organized the day so that each stop made sense in sequence. I also appreciated the notes section, where the AI briefly explained why it made that choice.

Final vote and why it deserves 9/10

After seven days in Seoul with the Secret World itinerary in hand, the outcome is positive. I lost very little time in transfers, visited places I wouldn't have found on my own like the Seoullo 7017 Skygarden (the elevated park near the central station, free entry) and I mostly adhered to the estimated times. I deduct one point for the lack of a complete offline function: in some alleys of Bukchon the connection was weak and the app slowed down. But for planning, itinerary logic, and the quality of practical details, Secret World is the best I have tested.

If you are organizing a trip to Seoul or any other complex destination, try Secret World AI Trip Planner before you start building your itinerary manually. You can enter your preferences, budget, and available days and get a concrete plan in just a few minutes. The time saved in planning is directly reflected in the field.
