Villa San Martino fu acquistata da Napoleone nel giugno 1814 per farne la sua residenza estiva ma poi rimasta inabitata a causa della partenza dall’Elba. Fu in seguito acquisita dal principe Anatolio Demidoff (erede Bonaparte per matrimonio) che fece costruire l’imponente Galleria neoclassica che prese il suo nome e oggi conserva una raccolta di stampe napoleoniche ottocentesche e arredemento d’epoca nelle sale affrescate. La più bella è la cosiddetta “Sala egizia”, che voleva celebrare la vittoria di Napoleone in Egitto. All'interno della Villa troviamo anche la statua di Galatea la cui ispiratrice fu la sorella di Napoleone Paolina.
