Cetara is a small fishing village located along the coast of the Sorrento Peninsula in the province of Salerno, Campania, Italy. Cetara is also famous for its Church of St. John the Baptist, built in 1745, and its old town with narrow alleys and colorful houses. Cetara's cuisine is influenced by seafood tradition and includes fresh fish and pasta dishes.The Church of San Giovanni Battista was built in the 15th century and has a Romanesque-Gothic style, with simple architecture and a facade adorned with a rose window and a mullioned window. Inside the church are numerous works of art, including a 15th-century panel painting of the Madonna and Child with Saints, and a 10th-century Byzantine icon. The church was restored in the 19th century and is now a must-see for those visiting Cetara.
