About Closed: At the Dürer Stone

Closed: At the Dürer Stone - Chiusa | Secret World Trip Planner

The Dürer Stone can be reached on the Dürer Stone promenade of the same name. It was the autumn of 1494 when the young Albrecht Dürer stopped in Chiusa and climbed the slopes of Mount Tschan on the left side of the valley. A beautiful path leads today from Chiusa to these slopes where after a few minutes you reach a bench. From here the painter designed the town of Chiusa. He certainly let himself be carried away by the prosperity of the surrounding landscape. Unfortunately his work has been lost. However, there is still an engraving on copper as a background to his allegorical figure "La grande fortuna". Rightly so when Chiusa calls itself the town of Dürer. Whoever wants to go to the place mentioned above must go to the Dürer stone (Dürerstein).
