The church stands tall and elegant on a kind of knoll; it is accessed by two stately granite staircases that end in an elegant balcony in a beautiful square from which much of the hamlet is dominated. The facade, in geometric compartments, is decorated with large frescoes with figures of saints and is dominated by the Holy Trinity to whom it is dedicated. The earliest document in which the church is mentioned is the register for the bishopric of 1369, written by the Vatican notary Giovanni Rinaldini, where we read that the church of the Holy Trinity is administratively connected to the church of St. Alexander of Dalegno and that of St. Martin. The Church of the Holy Trinity, located in the center of Ponte di Legno, in the upper Camonica Valley, is built in the 16th century and subsequently subjected to continuous restoration and reconstruction. The main facade, facing the churchyard, is decorated with large frescoes from 1880 by an unknown author depicting St. John the Evangelist, St. Matthias, St. Peter and St. Paul with the Holy Trinity in the center. In the central part, however, the large entrance portal with a doorway carved in high relief bears the figures of Sts. Peter and Paul the Apostles and Mary Assumed among angels carved by Brescian sculptor Annibale Pagnoni. On the north side stands the stone bell tower, dating from the 15th century and embellished with mullioned windows with two lights and battlements, while on the south side opens the side door, embellished with copper panels by sculptor Maffeo Ferrari. Also on that side is the sacristy door, in which twelve bronze panels, the work of sculptor Ettore Calvelli, are inserted. The interior has a nave and a quadrangular presbytery covered by a barrel vault; the presbytery has 19th-century frescoes by an unknown author and an interesting high altar attributed to the workshop of Domenico Ramus and Giovan Battista Zotti (18th century), an emblematic example of Baroque art in the valley. Also notable is the 17th-century wooden altarpiece, attributed to Giovanni Battista Ramus and bearing impressive wooden statues depicting the Holy Trinity, St. Peter and Paul, St. Mary of the Assumption, St. Mary of Cortona, and St. Catherine of Alexandria.
