The unfinished exterior features a beautiful Marble Portal. Inside are the remains of Jacopone da Todi. The plan of the church has three Gothic naves, each with an entrance from the facade and doorways embellished with historiated bas-reliefs depicting saints, biblical prophets and floral ornaments. Along the naves are 13 chapels with frescoes and statues, including the beautiful fresco of the Madonna and Child with Two Angels by Masolino da Panicale. Descending into the crypt is the marble tomb of St. Fortunato and the tombstone of Jacopone. From the sacristy, as you climb the high bell tower, you can admire a wonderful panorama of typical Umbrian hills.
