The International Jewelry Museum (ILJM) stands as a unique and independent cultural institution within Greece. It's important to emphasize that the ILJM operates as a nonprofit organization and has held official certifications from the Greek Ministries of Finance and Culture since 1993. Unlike some cultural institutions, the ILJM does not receive government funding.
With a dedicated mission, the ILJM strives to be a global hub for preserving and advancing traditional crafts, with a particular focus on the ancient art of silver and goldsmithing. Over its two-decade existence, the museum has successfully curated and hosted more than 50 temporary exhibitions both within Greece and abroad, thus actively contributing to the promotion of Greek art and culture worldwide.
Education is a cornerstone of the ILJM's activities. The museum has conducted over 1,200 specialized educational programs that have reached and enriched the lives of over 90,000 children and 20,000 adults. These educational initiatives aim to instill a deep appreciation for art and cultural heritage in the hearts of both young and mature learners.
As the museum looks to the future, it remains committed to introducing innovative programs that make art and cultural education enjoyable and inspiring for people of all ages.
