In a panoramic position, surrounded by apple trees, stands the ancient and elegant Castel Valer A castle with 9 centuries of life that has remained happily faithful to its historical and artistic heritage. In the ancient residence of Castel Valer everything is perfectly preserved, nothing has been lost and, century after century, its rooms inhabited since 1368 by a single family have kept alive not only their history, but everything that fills them: furniture, works of art, objects of daily use, furnishings, weapons, documents, carpets, tapestries... The same applies to the rooms, kitchens, corridors and all other areas. Not to mention, of course, the beauty and grandeur of the architectural structure that, among other unusual elements, also boasts the record of having the highest tower in the province (40 meters). The castle has been inhabited without interruption since 1368 by the family of the Counts Spaur, who played an important role in the history of Tyrol, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Bavaria and other Central European courts. The extraordinary thing about Valer Castle is precisely the fact that everything it is - inside and out - is not the result of an aseptically museum-like process, but is organically linked to its evolution over the centuries, to the history of the Spaurs and their everyday life. The public can visit various rooms: the chapel of San Valerio, the horse room, the bridge, the courtyard, the gardens, the cellar, the hall of coats of arms, the gothic kitchen and adjacent studies, the loggia and open gallery and Madruzzi's rooms.
