About Concord Theater

Concord Theater - Monte Castello di Vibio | Secret World Trip Planner

At 99 seats, the Teatro della Concordia in Monte Castello di Vibio holds the record for the world's smallest theater. Built in the early nineteenth century, at the instigation of nine prominent local families, although there are other theaters with seats of less than 100, the Teatro della Concordia is the only one to reproduce in faithful miniature the typical Italian and European theaters, as is evident from the attention to detail that distinguishes it, embellished by the materials used and the frescoes that adorn its boxes and vaulted ceiling, the work of Cesare Agretti and his young son. Entirely made of wood and in pure Goldonian style, it is inspired in its name by the climate of "concord among peoples" that was being breathed in Europe at that time in history after the French Revolution.
